Marine Mammal Stranding Center - Run for the Animals

“Join us to run/walk from The Cove to the cove for the Spooktacular Run for the Animals benefiting the Marine Mammal Stranding Center! Participants are encouraged to come in scary costumes or dressed as their favorite marine animal.

The Marine Mammal Stranding Center (MMSC) is the only authorized rescue, rehabilitation, and release facility for marine mammals and the authorized first responders for sea turtle strandings & disentanglements in the State of New Jersey. The MMSC is a 501 (c) (3) private nonprofit organization. Our life-saving work is funded by private donations from the public, fundraisers, grants, and retail gift shop sales.

Race Rules and Additional Information

RACE RULES - 5K

We are estimating that most runners will finish the course within 1 hours and 5 minutes (20-minute miles). The course will go over mostly paved roads, with a small section being on the Cove Access Road which is sand/dirt/gravel. We suggest that as an athlete, you train for this event because of the distance and conditions.

CHECK-IN ON RACE DAY

Check-in tables will be set up at The Cove Restaurant (3700 Brigantine Blvd) beginning at 8:00 AM. All participants must be checked in by 8:45 (15 mins prior to the race). Participants in the 5K Run will receive their bibs and timing chips at this time. Participants must be pre-registered/paid online prior to checking-in; online registration closes at 8:30!

SWAG
In our effort to tackle waste, we have kept the race price low, but added on options to purchase on event T-shirt or seal plushy. This will also give additional funding to us support our dedication to the Rescue, Rehabilitation, and Release of sick and injured marine mammals and sea turtles.

All pre-ordered swag will be handed out at the conclusion of the event, so single racers do not have to worry about storing.

CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST
Join your event team and Run for the Animal supporters for a continental breakfast and awards presentation at THE COVE immediately following the event's. There will be a separate section set up for those of you that are attending with your pets, complete with doggie treats!”
